BHSVA is a community based mental & behavioral health agency. Being community based means we help Virginians by going to their location to deliver services. Established in 2012 in response to the rising mental health crisis, we are a leading provider of mental health services for Virginians no matter their income level. Proudly accepting Medicaid and most all major insurances, we make mental health services more accesible throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

We are fully staffed with Licensed Mental Health Therapists, Behavior Therapists, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, and Psychiatrists to assist you with your treatment.

On Call 24/7

You can contact us 24/7 by calling our after-hours line or our main number; someone will always answer. Signing up for any BHSVA services gives you around the clock support whenever you need us.

Same Day Services

Same-day appointments are available for our crisis services. For other services, we initiate the intake process on the same day and then schedule your first appointment.

Walk-Ins Accepted

All of our offices are open to the public. Visit any of our three main offices in Richmond, Norfolk, or Spotsylvania. Our addresses & phone numbers are on our Locations page.

No Extra Fees

Most of our services are covered by your insurance company. You will only be responsible for your co-pays and deductibles. We work hard to make services more accessible to Virginians.
